   The Seneca Radio Club is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote amateur radio. The group is comprised of "hams" from Seneca County and surrounding areas, averaging 50 members. The callsign W8ID was obtained from the late Charles M. Jacobs.
    Meetings are the 2nd Monday of the month 7:00 PM at the Seneca County Public Safety Building (Seneca County Fairgrounds). The club is open to anyone interested in ham radio or amateurs who would like to join a club.
    Members participate in several radio activities including Field Day, various contests, Skywarn, ARES & other forms of emergency communications, and public events requiring radio communications.
    The club maintains a 2 meter repeater on 145.45 MHz (PL tone 107.2 Hz). This repeater is used for Skywarn and ARES operations, Seneca County ARES Net, as well as regular amateur use.
    The club also has administers amateur radio examinations every few months.To learn more on the latest test dates in other areas, contact the ARRL-VEC. You do not need to be an amateur to join our club. Getting started in a club is one of the steps in obtaining your first Technician class license or "ticket".
