| | | Hidden Transmitter Hunt & Training Coming A hidden transmitter hunt (fox hunt / direction finding) is being organized for the middle of July.
Those interested in learning more about this exciting ham radio activity can send an email to foxhunt@w8id.net and give name, callsign, email and phone number.
A few classes and a practice day are being scheduled. The classes will include information on how to build simple equipment (antennas, attenuators, etc.) to use during a foxhunt and search techniques.
Hidden transmitter hunts are an excellent way to learn how to find radio interference that can bother an Amateur Radio station, help search and rescue when a radio signal can be heard, direction finding and many other things.
Local, regional and international direction finding competitions are held each year.
